Livelihoods Improvement for Women and Youth (LI-WAY) is a five-year program implemented by a consortium of partners composed of SNV Netherlands Development Organization (lead), Mercy Corps, Techno Serve and Save the Children with the financial support from Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.
The overall purpose of this consultancy assignment is to conduct a survey of women and youth owned informal micro-enterprises for generating range of real-time constraints of informal micro-enterprise related to entrepreneurship, business performance, policies and regulations with the overall aim to provide input for LI-WAY programme to develop interventions to address those critical issues constraining their performance.
The Consultant will have the following qualification and experience:
- Have a minimum of two years’ experience in providing survey and assessments in urban areas, preferably in Addis Ababa informal economic activities
- Having survey experience in micro-enterprise sector is a plus
- In-depth analytical and reporting skills.
- Market system diagnosis and development experience
- Experience in gender and youth programming.
- Master’s degree in economics, statistics, business administration, marketing and related fields.

Both the technical and financial proposals should be in a separate sealed and stamped envelope by writing the name of the specific assignment.
2% withholding tax will be deducted from the consultant fees at the source and will be paid by SNV – Ethiopia, assuming a TIN number and license can be provided, otherwise 30% withholding tax will be deducted.
